Grille and bezels
« on: January 28, 2017, 11:32:47 AM »
I am trying to figure out which scenario is correct for my Flint built project. I have a collection of grills and bezels that are likely skylark and I am seeing different info as far as "black" on GS trim. The GS grill that I have is in rough shape and I do not think it is original to the car. Does someone have a close up pic of what the GS should look like ? I have two 65 GS cars and I don't think neither are correct.

Here's a close up of John's car I took at the spring extravaganza. My grille is wrong too so I took a close up picture.

Dan,

The picture that Jim posted is correct. The bezels need a little work too if they are going on a GS.
The bottom "grille" portion of the bezel needs to be black, the little triangle section seen off to the
right is black and the bottom, larger triangle section between the headlights is black.
The upper section between the headlights stays silver. Pic attached. Prepare to spend a few hours
masking... I used 3M green masking tape.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the pics guys,
It is starting to make more sense because it looks like the original grille has traces of black(it is in real nasty shape)...I am going to use my nice skylark grille and duplicate the pics. I just finished my tail lights and actually peeled a piece of $800 chrome off with the tape. I had earlier posted some good things about a chrome shop in Brillion,WI....after several emails with the shop I am opting out of future referrals for this company. Any suggestions as to someone who can do a professional job on the tail lights and headlight bezels? Dan
