Vin reads 444675B10055*  Body tag on firewal is: 08D 44467. This car had to be build on first day of skylark production. How can it be a GS I thought they didn't build them till later in the year. Real GS T-10 trans. with the cast iron bell housing and weird z bar assembly.

Chevypower,

Welcome to the forum!

The GS cars started production in Jan. 1965, so that really can't be a GS body with that trim plate and VIN tag.
I know there are a few 65 Gran Sports with 08 (August 1965) build dates, but the body number would be much higher
as you would know. Since it is a 44467, that body style is easier to replicate as a GS as it already has the convert
frame that all GS body styles used..

Some pics of the trim plate, codes on the trans and engine, etc. would better help solve the mystery.

Yep--what Mark just said is correct.  An 08D 65 model built in 64 would have had a downflow radiator and the associated radiator support in it.  If someone cloned it into a GS, they would have had to change the radiator core support along with the fenders.   Like Mark said, so pictures of the car and we might be able to help you solve the mystery.

I think I have it figured out. I have an extremely early body that had an extremely late parts car that was a real deal GS. Makes it really interesting cause the dates are right on alot of the components.  Cradle is correct, fenders are real gs fenders with correct cut outs. Should make for a nice clone when I am done with it.

Wow, my '65 GS was one of the LAST ones built at Baltimore, 3rd week of August 1965. 444675B145xxx.

What's the number on your cowl data plate between 'BAL' and 'BODY'?   Mine's 3072.... the 3072nd Skylark convertible built there in '65.
I don't know how many 44467's were built at Baltimore. Anyone know?

And Welcome to the site :occasion14:

I would not rule it out as there were preproduction cars built other wise how would there be press release photos  and other photos dated before production began! Very hard to document! though! 549 gs converts built at Baltimore plant also 2103 hardtops and  471
Posts. They actually built more converts in Baltimore than either Fremont or K C plants! Is there a S code on the body tag?
