Ok guys.. I think I've got it now, thanks!
Springs are painted pink if the car was built on a Tuesday and it was a full moon and the fellow assembling the car was named Steve. However if Bob was assembling the car on the same night, then they were bright orange.
Just kidding around.. I didn't want to let Walt down. ;D
Actually this information is very good and I appreciate it a lot. I think I'll stick with the gray on the springs (I found a really good sparkle grey paint that matches zinc pretty well).
The hood brackets I'll spray the same "factory correct" black that I'm using on the fender wells, core support, air cleaner lid etc...
The door hinges are getting painted body color and I suppose it's up to the guy shooting the jambs wether or not he shoots them in place or off the car.
I'll need to look at the two bracket bolts, it'd look nice to have them contrasting with the other black (nice detail).
This is all great information guys. Although I'm not trying to build a 100 point car out of the convertible, I do want to try and keep as much of it as close to original as possible when possible. I thinking that if we answer enough of these questions, a page in the future for just correctly restored components might be beneficial to our members.
Thanks again,
Chris
