Dear mid-60s Buick “victims” of excessively tall drain culverts,

In a perfect world, there would be a gentle transition between the street and your driveway.  If you dwelling isn’t perfect in that way, you might want to have some sort of a ramp to ease that transition.

The latest catalog from Griot’s garage had a new product which might be a good way to easily and safely ease that transition from street to driveway.  It is called a “curb ramp” and is manufactured by  Bridjit curb ramps:

The cost isn’t too extreme.  The 12 foot kit goes for $300 and you can add additional 4 foot sections if needed.  Since it isn’t permanent, you shouldn’t run afoul of building codes and perhaps even homeowner associations.  Especially, if you have lowered your car, this might something to look into.

Cheers, Edouard

P.S. This product is for sale at Amazon if you want to buy it from an established retailer.  However, according to the manufacturer’s website they are on back-order and shipments are almost a month behind right now.
