Jim , Chuck  ,    Actually I did  mount the transmission on my stand and and open it up to take a better look at it inside .
 It looks pretty good except for reverse gear is chewed up pretty good .  They must have had a hard time getting it into reverse for some reason .
I think the reverse gear will be fairly easy to get .
Jim ,  I still feel fortunate to have been able to get one of these 3 speeds for this car , its one of the reasons I was interested in buying this car .

John... that 3 speed shifter looks a lot like the 4 speed. Some parts may interchange.
You can buy thicker shims (reverse lockout plate?) to tighten it up. Check the Corvette suppliers.

Progress is slow on the car but the pistons came today .
Need to give a BIG SHOUT out to Tom Telesco for taking the time and effort for having these pistons made for our nailheads .
These pistons are very nice .  I,ll be dropping them off at the machine shop so they can finish hone the block and then hopefully assembly can begin .

Progress is slow on the car but the pistons came today .  . . . . These pistons are very nice .

I havn,t had much time to work on the car but all the parts i had shipped out to either have plated or rebuilt are starting to come back .
distributor came back from Carmen , it looks great . brake booster and shifter/clutch linkage came back from plating and I happen to get a NOS master cylinder .
Still waiting on machine shop for the engine parts though .

John,

I'm glad it went to a worthy cause, you will have to let use know how it drives.  Suprised that trans wasn't in worse shape being driven till the frame broke.  Reverse is always chewed on manual transmissions, as most aren't sychronized.  On 4 speeds if you shift into second it stops the cluster gears and doesn't grind going into reverse, not sure if that trick works on the 3 speeds.
