WTB Left Tail Light
« on: January 14, 2015, 03:38:33 PM »
I am in need of a left nice left tail light. It is for a 65 GS and I need at least a good housing but would take a complete light w/lenses.

Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Fred Z.

Jonesy, Thanks for the heads up on the tail lights. I took a look at those and was actually hoping for a little nicer one, The problem is that they get warped in the center and are hard to straighten out. I don't mind spending extra for a nice one.

Thanks,
Fred Z.

I have 2 here and if you sight down them, there is a definite bow or what I call warpage on the top of the housing. My right one is perfect but the left is a bout 1/4 inch low in the middle where it fits the rear body panel.

Thanks,
Fred Z.

If you take fine tread bolt like half inch or so with nut on it inside the light housing and unscrew the nut like a jack screw.  This should push the housing apart. As long as you go slow and go past straight it should straighten for you.  if not I have 3 sets in various conditions I would have to check about straightness.  the lights get over tightened over the years and I think they bend.
