new Delco battery. What model fits?

Looking to replace my battery on my 65 GS. Want to know if anyone is using a replacement Delco battery and what part #. Definitely looking for something that fits the tray and hold down properly. The dealer here doesn`t have a lot of stock so I would like to have him order it.

Do not believe that anyone has found a battery that is as tall as the original. The AC Delco 24 series is as close as AC comes and it is only 8 13/16 inches high. You might also consider a different brand. Maybe a different manufacturer makes a battery that is a better fit.

What some have done to solve the height problem is to place something under the battery to bring the height up so the hold down fits snug. Lots of luck.
