« on: January 25, 2014, 11:14:30 AM »
Tranny was slipping, after going around corners and slipping started to feel like it was low on fluid. After careful scrutiny realized someone added 3.5 inches to dip stick once I added fluid works like new.  lengthened dip stick? Anyway need stock one in good shape please, thanks

crawdadman,

I thought that I had an extra one but can not find it. However, the transmission dipstick part number that you need is #1361594. This number will be stamped on the dipstick and is the same for the 1964 and 1965 ST300 transmission. Good luck.

I have an extra trans that I do not want to take parts from, but I could get you a proper length dipstick using my original as a guide.

I have one from a 65 Skylark. Should be the same as the GS? I`ll dig it out Friday and let you know.
