Dont know if anyone has tryed this but I put a 3.5 " filter in the stock Air box raises lid 1/4 inch.

If it's the same K&N filter that I'm running, once you get this mounted on top of the carb, you should be able to pull up on the base and tighten down the top and that 1/4" almost disappears and it goes away with a little compression / adjustment.
I love my K&N filter.

Chris, I am doing it for breathing purposes.Im putting an 850 Q-jet on it. They make a 3" this one is 3.5"

Ok... I'm probably running the 3" version which would have it sitting a little more flush.
