That is center hole to center hole. Take it to a frame shop and have them bend/fix it.

Hi,

A 66 frame would work, but is different than a GS frame as they use a fully boxed frame like a convertible, there may be other slight differences.

Depending on how bad like Dan said take it to a frame shop and then make your decision as I had a truck pulled a few years ago and it was a few hundred bucks

Jim

About 5 hours away there is a confirmed 66 GS frame in nice shape .This thing is bent right at the lower A Arm mount up and inward.I measured from hole to hole last night and it is about 31.5"confusing to me that the core sipport fit in between the frame rails .could you guys please elaborate on the differances of a 65 and 66 GS frame.Im assuming coupe and sedan are the same.Im leaning towards the new frame very disappointing.First the sandblaster ruined all my extra new mexico parts and now this.
Is god testing me or something

The 66 Skylark convertible, and Skylark GS frames both have the boxed side rails like a '65 Skylark GS.
Sedan, hardtop, or convertible doesn't matter as long as it's a GS frame, or a Skylark convertible frame.
It's nearly identical to the 65 frame EXCEPT the front crossmember looks slightly different......the 65 has a welded on 'point', while the 66 'point' is molded in. It's not a functional difference, just cosmetic.

I'd suggest just having your frame fixed if it's only the front horn that is bent a little.

Some 66 frames have the towing "point" on the front crossmember too.  I think they eliminated it at some point during the '66 year.

Bobby,  If it helps, there is another frame spec chart in the
GS Gallery'. Look in the 'Literature' section on page 9, image #105 and 106:
http://www.65gs.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=8&page=9

I initially thought your frame only had the frame horn bent, which would be a fairly simple repair. Your buddy should be able to make the call on whether it's repairable.

Brian, yes, I have seen some very early '66 models with the 65 crossmember style. I'd guess Buick made the change in the first month or so of production.
