Parts from Mister T's 65 GS
« on: April 02, 2015, 08:13:51 AM »
Decided to take Tom B's (Mister T on this forum) '65 GS back to its factory configuration. That was a single four barrel with automatic. This means there are some wonderful parts to sell. The parts include:
      • Dual Quad setup - does not need rebuilding. Tom drove thousands of miles with it. A setup just sold on eBay for $2,250. My asking price is $2,000
      • Dual Quad air cleaner with acorn nut, etc - very nice condition, asking $800
      • Aluminum valve covers - very nice condition but are aftermarket, asking $300
      • GSCA headers - nice condition but will need recoating to be really nice. Asking $250   SOLD
      • Complete rear axle assembly with Richmond 3.90 posi unit - very sweet unit and the inside shows virtually no wear. Again, Tom drove with this unit for thousands of miles. Asking $1,200
      • M 22 transmission - a very nice Auto Gear unit. Close ratio. Have the driveshaft and Hurst shifter also. Asking $1,500 for the transmission, $300 for the shifter and $100 for the driveshaft

The above prices do not include shipping. The rear axle assembly and transmission are located near Lincoln, NE and the others are in Green Bay, WI

Later a consolette and shorty console will also be available.

Dang it Dan. Wish I had the time to do what you've done prior to selling.  :icon_biggrin:

Dan is correct in that I drove the car several thousand miles with the above set up. Drove it 2500+ miles round trip to the BPG meet in Newark, Ohio in August 2013. The car performed flawlessly.

The transmission shifts solid and smoothly. All gears are tight and smooth. If you have never experienced the M-22 whine, you're missing out on some sweet music. I will miss that most of all. I think it's a 28 spline input and 8 or 10 spline output.  :dontknow:

Good luck with the sale Dan.  :cheers2:
Tom B

Currently bereft of Buicks.

Dan,

If it's a factory 4 speed driveshaft, I'll take it.

Mark, its an automatic driveshaft with the M 22 input shaft. That's either 26 or 31 splines.

The M 22 has a spline count of 26 in / 27 out per the original invoice.

I hear you Tom, my problem is I'll have to replace those parts. LOL Lucky for me I have a source.

It is a 1965 Buick Gran Sport ten bolt 8.2. Has the big GS axles, etc. Only thing that was changed was the addition of the Richmond 3.90 posi unit.

Dan,

What color is the shorty console? I may be interested in that when the time comes.

What color do you want the console to be ? LOL Currently a gold/brown with a non-original cover. The covers are reproduced in white or black for $150. Can paint it any color you want. Not looking for a lot of money for it as is.

Headers may be available. Talked with the other person that's interested in the headers and he says he will let me know soon.
