Rear Axle Bumpers
« on: March 15, 2015, 12:11:02 PM »
Where can I get the rubber bumpers for the rear end that you can actually get into the slots in the tabs welded to the axle housing?
I bought some quite a few years ago, but every attempt to get them in failed. Are there any better than others?

Mark, I think I  bought Metro, through Summit Racing or Rock auto, for a good discount. Mine went in fine, I had the bracket off and put it the vise and used a little rubber lube and found the best way to get them in is slide them in from the end, had no luck trying to put one side in than the other. Thanks Bill.

Bill,

Thanks for the tip! I was just working on that this week. Still don't have em in, but can see that sliding them in from the end is the way. I bought a jug of Ru Glyde last week just for this. It's super slippery, almost had one in...

Bracket is welded to rear, so no vice work unfortunately. I have the rear  of the car up on stands and rear wheels off.
