A few more pics. The tranny mount writing is still visible along with a part number?

Found the pics of the repo boot vs the original from my '66 GS.
Notice how much bigger it is, plus it's for a rectangular shift handle.

Walt,

That is big, I was hoping to somehow glue or otherwise tac-weld the rip in my boot. It just keeps getting bigger.

Maybe glue a piece of inner tube to the inside? Rubber cement would work.

the larger boot May? have been made for the older Hurst shifter. I installed one in my conv. in 1970. A lot of sites still insist that the 65
GS came with the Hurst shifter, not the T handled round shifter. Where did you find the rectangle?

Mike,
To repair your existing boot, go buy a tube of stuff called GOOP.  Clean the back side of  the torn area really good with some brake cleaner, then put a generous coat of GOOP over the tear from the back side. It will be good to go then.  I have used the stuff to repair holes in bicycle inner tubes and it never failed.  You can get it at any hardware or home improvement store.

We are moving right along. It's nice to have a bead blast cabinet available, and a lot of Go-Jo on hand. Transmission cross member is blasted, primed and painted. The shift linkage just needs to be painted and the drive shaft is well on it's way.

A little help please. Is this pressure plate correct for my car, as in is this what would have come new from the factory? This is not the type that came out of the car. The one clutch disc is the old one and the other is the new one that came with the pressure plate. It has 10 spline and is 11 inches.

that is the 3 finger style, as far as I know you want the Diaphram type. I don't think Buick used the the 3 finger style.

Tranny has been rebuilt. New piece machined by a friend on his old school mill. Matching numbers tail shaft housing.

Looks good. I will have to check my boot in the 66. I have a Hurst shifter and think my boot has a round hole.
