Couldn't figure out why my car with a build date of 4th week January had a larger, script grill emblem - until I found this in the glovebox....

Hold onto that.. they are as rare as hen's teeth and usually commend a pretty nice price. I'm sure yours will end up back on the car where it belongs.  It's really nice to see these on the correct early build cars as it makes these cars even a little more special.

I once had two and decided to share one with a buddy who hangs out on the site.

I'll go in and edit your registry entry over to the square emblem.

Thanks

Thanks for the registry update, and yes it'll be back on the car first chance I get. I wasnt to do a little research on how to preserve it from pitting a little better.... a couple of coats of clear? maybe redo the red paint in the lettering as well....

Actually drove the car yestesterday for the first time (yeah, I bought it before I actually drove it...it was blocked in by a 65 Riv GS)

Brake pedal is a bit low, and was surprised by the number of turns lock to lock, but oh jesus the torque! It would just throw the nose in the air, bite and launch...my carb and fouling plugs brought an end to the fun but I'll be getting back to it soon..
