So the body is now totally stripped. It rusty inside but clean outside? Must've been leaking inside for a long time.

This is the end of today. My friend was supposed to come and paint the frame and suspension but didn't show.

Are all the paint guys a little off?? Thats been my experience.

So I ordered more paint from eastwood on thursday afternoon and it came less than 24 hours!!!


So i'll be putting a nice second coat on everything tomorrow.

Just thought i'd do an update. As of today, the frame is done and complete less the fuel and brake lines. I figured i'd wait until I dsrop the body on the frame so I don't pinch any on them.

Now I an at the mercy of my paint guy, who only does it part time now. So he will first take 2 parts that aren't attached to the body. Being, 2 fender wells, 2 fenders, 2 doors, 1 hood and deck lid, and 1 core support. He is going to take 2 at a time, get them all in etching primer until he's done with all the externals. Then onto the body.

During all of this, I have to clean and paint the trans, and go through the engine. In which i'm not sure what i'm going to do with.

I'll post some pics.

Joe ,

  Haveing been down this route a few times allready, I would suggest putting the main lines in before you put the body back down. It is much easier to get them in without the body on.

Joe,

Ditto what Loren said. You'll never get the lines on with the body on, at least not cleanly.
The fuel line will be the most difficult, because it needs to snake through the frame at the front and the front crossmember.

Inline Tube bent mine to match the originals, so call them, they should be a perfect fit.

Make that three! Install lines before you drop the body.
Even the original lines fit poorly. The repos I got from The Right Stuff were pretty good, but the fuel line was too short. I had to send them my original so they could make one to copy. Their customer service was excellent, they went out of their way to make it right!

I should mention I did change my plan for that car and decided to go 99.9% original. So I took the stainless lines off, and bent my own from a roll of brake line I bought from NAPA. Looks factory stock now! ;D

You guys have it made. When I did mine , no one made lines available. I made my own also using NAPA tubing and fittings . Along with a quality bender  and flaring set . It ws kinda fun.
