Is there a source for inside rear view mirrors or the mount?
Mine is pitted, but I can't seem to get the mount and the mirror separated.
There's a plastic sleeve where the screw that connects the two are,
and I can't get that out. It's just the standard mirror, not day-night.
Help.

Mark I know they repop the mount through the big suppliers, ta
and year one but the mirror isn't made. eBay item.

Maybe check the on line catalog from NPD for the 65 chevelle. Might be the same mirror and mount!!

Joe,

I'll check out the on-line a-body suppliers, I would think they'd all be the same. I did some scrounging on evilbay over the weekend, but didn't see anything that looked like the plain stock mirror. I've also heard there was more than one style or type of mirror.
Thanks!

The only thing I've seen , is the standard and the day/night one. Also the convertible mount is different then the closed car mount.

Mark,

The Parts Place in Chicago has repro of both the standard mirror and the bracket. Part #'s are IN3415Z and IN4410Z. Prices are $49 and $39

For the mirror, I like to use ones for a big series car like an Impala. They are wider and give a  view out of the whole rear window, not just part of it. Mark, take a look at your 66 Chev....is it the same style as the 65 GS?

Dan, I ordered the Parts Place items you noted.

Walt, the Impala has a day/night mirror. It is bigger than the a-body mirror, and similar style-wise.
One of my best friends is an early Impala guru, I'm going to see what he has in stock.

Tom, I just got a box of stuff from Fusick about a week ago. The guy I talked to on the phone was pretty sharp,
and didn't hang up on me because I had a Buick. I had that happen to me with a large Chevrolet parts supplier
a couple of years ago. I'd buy from Fusick again because they seemed knowledgeable.
