Hey guys, whats the difference in a hardtop and posr sedan? As far as I know, the door panels and armrests are different bit what about the inside lights? Center dome or the opera type in the pillars?

Thanks for your help.

Joe ,
the dome light is in the center of the roof , not the sail panels. Also the seat pattern is different and uses two shades of color if not black or white.

I forgot to mention that the back seat is the widest of the three [hardtop, convertible, post].
It reaches from quarter panel to quarter panel.

The package tray is different , smoother texture.

Loren, does the Skylark sedan use the same interior panels as the Special?

Walt,

Ok, I had to dig out my '65 Buick color-trim book for that one. The Special was available with a standard interior or a deluxe interior.

The deluxe interior is the same as the Skylark or GS thin pillar coupe[2 door sedan]. The standard interior is very different.

Going to my Buick Master parts catalog, the deluxe option was only used on the 2 seat station wagon and the 4door sedan.

So from what I am seeing, the Special thin pillar coupe [ 2 door sedan] came only with the standard interior.

Does my explanation make sense to you?

Thanks for checking, I was just curious. I didn't expect you to go to so much trouble!

Odd that they had 3 different styles for the Special and Skylark.
I like the sedan door panels. The 2-tone looks sharp!

Walt and others,

It is no trouble at all. I had collected all the '65 info in the past that I could find . Especially dealer info, with the idea of being able to do as correct restoration as was possible at the time.  This started back in the '80's .

Now , I am able to share what I have on a greater basis then just a few people asking questions at car shows.

Glad to be of service,

Loren,

You just nailed the very purpose of this site!   ;D

"Now , I am able to share what I have on a greater basis then just a few people asking questions at car shows"

Perfect... I couldn't have said it better myself!

The information age will allow us to reach more 65 guys than we ever would meet at 1000 car shows.

Chris,

Having a GS site , that is aimed primarily at our '65's , is a treasure.

The early days of the GSCA was a wealth of info. Then it seemed to turn to the turbo cars as the main emphasis. Not that I don't like the turbo cars , but not having one to relate the info to ,I lost interest.

So let's keep the '65 GS alive and smokin

Glad to be of service,
Loren
