Need technical help with dual quad. Anyone?
« on: May 15, 2011, 07:46:31 AM »
I live in the upstate NY area and I am looking for someone near my area who might be educated enough about the 1965 401.  I have a dual quad setup with all linkage and most of the plumbing.  Intake is ready to bolt on.  Does anyone know were the best place to have the carbs rebuilt?  Then most importantly I would like to have someone tune it properly.  Also, is there is anything else I should do during this process of changing over.  Any and all suggestions appreciated.  Thank you Dave

Dave,
Carmen rebuilt my carbs and distributor. He's located in N. Tonawanda. Does excellent work. Will build the distributor to match your cam profile if you want that sort of thing. His carbs normally work right out of the box. He does not do internet so calling is a must. Very well educated in nailheads. Picture of his work -

The distributor curve is different for the 2X4 setup then for the single carb.

Carmen has the knowledge and the equipment to take care of that also.
