Joe,
just read your thread from the beginning. you are doing a great job, nice to get a preview of what i will be going thru this winter. is that the car Jeff from Colorado had for sale on the V8 board? if so i am glad i stepped aside and you ended up wioth it. I bought a 65 GS post car with a 3 speed. for some reason i have a fascination with the post cars. keep up the good work buddy.  Bob

Now 20 months. Joe is still posting occasionally over on V8Buick.
Wonder how he and the car are doing.

I was concerned how he made out during hurricane Sandy. He's only a few blocks from the NJ coast.
I did track him down on a slot car forum, he posted a few weeks ago....so at least he's alive!

Hi Guys. Well finally got back to work on the car. Cut out the rusty trunk pan and prepping the new one piece pan to go in.

Once the trunk is in, i'm ready to start sanding and priming the body. Then drop it back on the frame. Can't wait to get it back on the frame.

Hope everyone is doing ok. I been working a lot and haven't been on line much lately.

Hi guys, well doing 80 hrs a week due to Sandy and also due to my boss getting the city's emergency sewer and water main repairs, I did myself in.

Last sept I was forced out of my truck cause my body was going numb. I worked until I couldn't anymore. Turned out a disc in my neck popped out and was cutting into my spinal cord and cut it off about 95%!! The Dr's couldn't believe I was still walking!!

So Oct 1st, I had the director of JFK medical center take it out, put in a cadaver bone with a plate and screws!!!!

8 months later, today, I am still numb and have had zero re-generation on my nerve damage causing the numbness. Ugh!!! Can't hardly use my hands except my thumbs and fore fingers. Horrible situation to be in. My quality of life sucks right now. The dr tells me I will recover sooner or later. No way of knowing when. So I did myself in by not going to see a dr sooner, I bet I went numb over a years time. Saying to myself, I will feel better tomorrow. HA!!!! What an a$$ I am.

So if you guys feel off a little, get to a dr asap!!!!!!

My fault I guess, so I am selling my beloved Colorado GS, unfortunately.

Sucks I wanted to make the 50 year anniversary so bad!!

Anyone interested, let me know. The frame is done, new suspension, close ratio steering box, newly rebuilt 308 posi and disc brakes up front. Chassis done in Eastwood's Ceramic 2K satin black paint.

Body only need about 2 inches on either side of the inner rear fender wells to be re=connected to the new 1 piece trunk pan I put in.

Also put a drivers side toe pan, and replaced the trunk pan, top and bottom along with the rear speaker deck.

Then it can get primered and put back on  the new frame. Not much body work on this clean west coast car.

Very disappointed to be selling it after all I did and shipped it 2000 plus miles but hate to see it sit and waste away. It needs to be done. Bobbysbuick showed some interest so maybe his friend will want it. I know he is capable of finishing it. I seen his top shelf work, he's awesome!!

Thanks guys. I will be checking in here, sorry it's been so long but between the storm Sandy and all the emergency work I was dong 90 hrs some weeks. But now we're broke and I need to sell the car along with a crap load of speed parts. In which I have listed on V8Buick.

Sorry to hear of your situation Joe. The human body is an amazing machine. It can heal itself, but it takes time. Hoping you recover soon, hang in there. At least you're posting again.... it may be good therapy for your typing fingers, so keep posting! Take care buddy
