Bought my first 65 Gran Sport convertible, 3spd. stick in 1969, used in Chicago. Fixed it up, got totaled.  Moved to Arizona, 1973 bought another 65 Gran Sport hardtop, automatic from original owner, on my second restore. Been a member of GSCA since the early 70's. Glad to have found this forum while looking for parts. Happy to see others are very interested in the first year. Have owned other GS,s. 1971 GSX, 1967 Rivera GS both sold now. Still own my 1969 California which I will restore when the 65 is complete.  The 65 though is my favorite, as you have already figured. Not real computer lit., but bear with me.

Cool car!
I'm still waiting on my first 65GS.   Keep hitting around it with wrong year GS or Skylark close to the right year.
Soon I hope!   Get some pictures up.

yFFUD,

Welcome to the website where the '65 GSs are our favorites also. (Walt, we are also quite fond of the '66 GSs) You will find that many '65 GS owners are long time enthusiasts and may own more than one. You are among friends here. You have owned one of the rarest '65 GSs, a 3 speed convertible. Only 123 were made. How cool was that! Bet you wish you had it back again. Good luck with you hardtop restoration. Glad to have you aboard.

yFFUD,

Sorry about that.. I totally missed your posting.

Welcome to the club!   :occasion14:

Like John said, your 3 speed convertible was one extremely rare combination.

What was the color combo on that car as I know of a couple still around, also would you happen to have any old pictures of her?

Any chance of you sharing your first name with everyone or would you prefer to go by yFFUD?

Thanks for joining and I'm looking forward to reading your postings.

My original 65 Gran Sport was dark blue with pure white interior and a white convertible top. My first name is Tom. I did not know that I would end up with the Login name. As I said at the beginning of intro, I am not up to the tech. part of this site yet.  Sorry, :sad1: no pictures from that era, at that time we were more interested in going fast on the streets.

Thanks Tom..

I wonder if your car is now owned by Robert Depp?

Bob had two convertibles (a Blue one with white interior that was once a three speed car) and a white one with red interior that now sits in my drive.

Any chance you might have a VIN number or something from your ole Blue convertible?
