70 gs tach

my tach that has been hooked to a HEI distributer for years is starting to read inaccurate (not going above 2500 ). any ideas

It may have gotten a little dirty inside. Try some "caned air " that is used for computers. You'll have to open it up to do this. You need to be careful with the pressure and that is why I suggest the "caned air".
