Dear mid-60s Buick caregivers,

Even a classic car can end up parked for extended periods on a sunny day.  You can buy sun reflectors to put on the inside of your windshield to keep out the sun’s harmful rays for modern cars.  But did you know that there is manufacturer that will make a custom sun reflector for your classic Buick?

Decades ago, I discovered HeatShield windshield sun reflectors. Here is their main website:

https://www.heatshieldstore.com/

They have custom windshield solar reflector for a:

1964 Skylark - https://www.heatshieldstore.com/sun_shades_for/buick/skylark/1964

1965 Skylark - https://www.heatshieldstore.com/sun_shades_for/buick/skylark/1965

1966 Skylark - https://www.heatshieldstore.com/sun_shades_for/buick/skylark/1966

and 1967 Skylark - https://www.heatshieldstore.com/sun_shades_for/buick/skylark/1967

Of course these shields will also fit the corresponding Specials and Gran Sports, so they have models to fit all the mid-60s Buick A-bodies.  It has been a long time since I bought one for my trusty wagon, but it has held up very well.  Here is a photo of it rolled up for storage:

As you can see it is made of a relatively thick material that provides significant insulation.  The reflective surface will keep the UV rays from harming your car's precious upholstery.

Here is a photo of my trusty wagon with her heatshield deployed:

As you can see the fit is excellent.  Here is one more picture of the Heatshield deployed as seen from the interior:

These windshield sun reflectors are on the expensive side, but they have a custom tailored fit and provide far better protection than inexpensive designs.  It is just one more way we can luv' of classic Buicks!  :love4:

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

P.S. There may be other brands that have custom-fit windshield sun reflectors for classics.  However, I could not find any with a quick web search.
