Front fender emblem

Took the emblem off and this was underneath. Kinda interesting to me. Still somewhat pliable and looks like conduit sealing putty. I believe this to be from original assembly.

. . . . Did you send a sample out to be radio-carbon dated?  It looks extremely old!  Why, it might date to the period before the age of - digital cameras!! . . .

Worst still, . . . . it might have come from . . . . . Oak Island!!
