Tom,

Was it a difficult decision ? Know your left ankle/arch has bothered you for some time now.

Get well soon !!!

Dear Tom, Jim, Dan, Loren, and members of the mid-60s Buick family,

I had triple ankle fusion surgery on Wednesday, May 3rd. During my recovery, I cannot place any weight on my left foot for up to 2 months. Performing those everyday mundane tasks we take for granted now requires some thought beforehand. I've been home for just over a week already. There are 5 steps between me and the outdoors, which are difficult to navigate. Life is rather boring right now.

Sounds like you had a difficult choice to make and you made the best choice that circumstances permitted.  Now you've got take it easy and allow your body to heal.  Sorry that life is boring, but maybe that's the best medicine of a sort for you right now.

Take it easy!! - as if you had any other choice!

Cheers, Edouard

I appreciate the thoughts and well wishes during my recovery.  :cheers2:

It wasn't a difficult decision given the deterioration in the ankle and foot bones. It was either surgery, or likely a wheelchair for the rest of my life. For several weeks beforehand, I wore a knee to toe support boot that looked like something Robo-Cop might wear.  :icon_biggrin:

My mom and step dad, (plus their small dog and cat) have moved in for the next few weeks to assist me with daily activities. Worst part is, I cannot drive anything right now.  :BangHead:

Oh well, back to your regularly scheduled thread.

Tom,

Unfortunately, didn't think it was a tough decision. Fantastic that you have family (and pets) to help you through the recovery process.
