Thanks!  The new Dash Pad was the missing cherry on top!

Thanks again to Loren for organizing this project!

Dear Black Wedge, Loren, Jim, and mid-60s Buick with an eye to details,

Heres some pics..

. . . Ah Ha!  I knew you could not be trusted!!  That sure doesn't look like a 1965 Buick radio! . . . . . . .

Seriously, what stereo do you have in your car?  That looks like a Retrosound model if I had to guess and it looks a lot better than I imagined!

Do tell because I'm extremely curious!

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Correct, its a Retrosound radio.  I found the sound quality to be much better than Custom Autosound.

Dear Black Wedge, and mid-60s Buick audiophiles,

Correct, its a Retrosound radio.  I found the sound quality to be much better than Custom Autosound.

Shucks!  More temptation! . . . .

I've been using Custom Autosound since 1995 and I like their products, but I'm really frustrated with the lack of built-in Bluetooth support.  My trusty wagon was the first car in the house to have a Bluetooth stereo, but since then I've upgraded all the other cars and I'm spoiled by the improved support.  It is really nice to know what track is playing for example.

Still, the Custom Autosound does look more like a 1965 Buick radio.  I added the 1965 "BUICK" buttons and it really looks like it belongs there:

Thanks for the info.   Perhaps Retrosound will make a model with buttons that can be topped with the BUICK lettering or Custom Autosound will finally upgrade their own products.  They really are overdue.

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

No Worries.

Seems I still need to keep on this.  I thought that once PMI had started production, all would be well.  There I go,.... thinking again. lol

Speaking of battery cables - what is the proper routing of the ground strap? Mine goes from the negative terminal on the battery to the rear stud on the power steering pump.  I know that there is a smaller wire that is supposed to go to the body, but don't where that should attach to the body.

That small gauge wire is attached to the inner fender down near the bottom of the battery tray.  There should be a ring terminal on the end of that wire that is screwed into the inner fender.

Please Read !

If you removed the clips from your dash pad prior to sending it, they need to be sent to PMI NOW.

The clips MUST be on the metal base before the foam is applied.  Installing them latter will cause an issue in the appearance of the pad.
