Dear Loren, sjfd04, Brian, and mid-60s Buick fans of high-tech,

We used some inexpensive LED bulbs in the first go around. Found them to have very inconsistent quality.
So I recommend the Sylvania LED bulbs be used. Those are what is in the video.

Not to drift too much off-topic, but I'm curious what sort of Sylvania LED bulbs did you use?  Are they 1157 replacements?  I am in search for some nice LED replacements for the 1157 bulbs I've got now.

  Does your system require switching to LED taillight bulbs, or will it also work with 1157 bulbs like the cars came with?

It requires changing to LED bulbs and using a turn signal flasher for LEDs.

Dan and I determined that the Sylvania bulbs will work well.  The less expensive Led bulbs that I tried originally, seem to have poor quality control and functioned inconsistently.
An upside to the LED bulbs is extended life and they are much brighter.

Yes, they are 1157 replacements.

Yes but not only that, they are cool white!  It says so right on the package!  So how cool is that!!!
