THANKS LOREN
« on: August 07, 2016, 08:45:44 PM »
Visited Loren Alexander this past week. While there he wired up a set of tail lights for the yellow GS.
Very unexpected and much appreciated.

If you ask he might build set for you. Not sure how many $$$ but they sure work nice.

Just one problem I need to solve before asking Loren though . . . . .

Alas, I don't think I'm going to be solving that problem any time soon . . . . .  :icon_scratch:

Seriously thanks Loren for creating something really neat for us 1965 Buick fans!

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Very nice!   I must say that car still looks, and sounds great. Of course I'm just a little prejudiced.  :icon_biggrin:

Dan, that is really cool.
Takes me back to my yout when I was fascinated by the T-birds & Cougars with taillights that did that.

When I drug my car out of a field back in 1998, it had a homemade taillight sequencer mounted in the truck.  Looked to have been made back when the car was only a few years old.  It was done with some Ford starter relays, a huge rheostat (I assume for adjusting the speed), and some capacitors and resistors.  It was all so rusty and the wires such a mess (they used all the same color wire in the whole setup) that I trashed it all and found another factory taillight harness out of a skylark in the local junkyard.  Wish I had saved it now since.  Would be cool to have another one like it since it was all 1965 technology.

 Loren

I finally took the time to add up what it cost to fabricate the set up.

If there is interest, I can sell them for $300 plus shipping.
There will be a $60 core charge also. Core charge is refunded upon receipt of a good core.

Price does not include LED bulbs or the LED turn signal flasher that needs to be changed out.

We used some inexpensive LED bulbs in the first go around. Found them to have very inconsistent quality.
So I recommend the Sylvania LED bulbs be used. Those are what is in the video.

Loren,
Does your system require switching to LED taillight bulbs, or will it also work with 1157 bulbs like the cars came with?
