Shiftworks Shifter Kit
« on: April 07, 2016, 01:07:55 PM »
I found Shiftworks online while looking for shifter retrofit options to convert my 2 speed floor-shift linkage and detent to 3 speed (TH350/TH400) or 4 speed (200-4R/700R-4). It does away with the hard linkage and replaces it with a cable. It also updates the detent and shift indicator. I won't lie, the instructions are terrible (I'm half tempted to just write them a legit tech manual), but the product itself is fantastic. The parts are high quality and the shifter action feels great. I asked them when I made my purchase if I could buy just the 4-speed detent & indicator if I upgraded transmissions and they said, "absolutely". Just thought I would pass the info along. http://www.shiftworks.com/buick.htm

Thanks for the hands- on information about Shiftworks.

I've looked at the product site, but haven't had a need yet.

Dear Bob, Loren, and mid-60s Buicks who dream of more gears . . . .

I found Shiftworks online while looking for shifter retrofit options . . . .

. . . . .

Thanks for sharing your success story!  I had looked into their options for column mounted shifter conversion to a 200-4R.  For my situation, going with an Ididit column was a better mousetrap, but for someone who wants a stock looking interior, their kits look very interesting.

It is unfortunate that they didn't put more effort into their instructions, but at least you have given us a head's up about it.

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

Thanks for posting, great solution for a nice upgrade.  I've always received great service and products from Shiftworks.
Just picked up my 200R4, it's sitting in the back of my pickup now.

Yes thanks. This is interesting and the shifter plate looks good in the console!

I know this is old but I?ll probably be the next Shiftworks customer. Working on getting things together to put a 200-4R into one of the Gran Sports.
