« on: February 15, 2016, 10:28:24 AM »
Never have done this before but yesterday I got the back seat complete the Originals were really not that bad but very stiff and the foam was falling apart. Turned out nice first time doing a seat cover
on the bottom used 2 layers burlap, foam, and  one layer of cotton
on back used 2 layers burlap, 3 layers cotton, and muslin
and a shit load of hog rings .
next up front buckets
Everything with foam kit and all the installation stuff i bought on sale for a little under 1000 shipped on sale over christmas

Thanks for sharing your experiences.  Legendary has a good reputation and it is good to know that this within the realm of DIY if you are bold and disciplined enough.  As Loren points out, the next challenge of the front seats is now before you.

Cheers, Edouard  :occasion14:

How are your hands holding up ? Gotta be tough on them. Real nice job on the seats.

I do HVAC Sales for a living been with a large company for 39 years .I however used to cut sheetmetal installing ductwork.Brought back some old injuries with the hands doing this.
One thing i should mention you can just cover your stuff and it will look nice
I bought new foam, new cotton, new burlap, new muslin ,new everything
restored the frames blasted and clear coated cleaned and oiled the tracks
After I installed the drivers seat .I had to readjust the rear view mirror it sat so different
totally different ride
Worth the extra money /time

Very impressive Bob. Where there any surprises or unexpected issues? What was the hardest part?

i made 2 mistakes on the drivers side back due to it had been apart before.the listing wires wrap around the bottom and attach the the springs also the sides attach to the frame and not just together in one spot on the side .just take pictures when taking apart
