Radiator for A/C

Does anyone have an old, non-functional radiator for a 65 GS with air conditioning?  Or, failing that, Carmen tells me that I can make a radiator from a 66 Riviera work.  I All I'm interested in are the original Harrison tanks.  I will try to confirm that the Riv radiator tanks have the correct tanks on them.

If you have either of these and are interested in selling, please let me know.

There you go Chuck.

If you have a Gran Sport non A/C radiator, it can be changed to A/C. Have it recored and have the upper neck changed from a straight neck to a 90.

I can make a template from mine so the neck is installed at the correct angle.  Let me know.

So, the tanks are the same, just need to recore with 4 rows and swap the angled neck?  I have the non-A/C radiator and a local source to recore.  I'd better check first to be sure it's an original with Harrison tanks, though......

Just checked and my radiator is an original Harrison.  So Loren, I'll take you up on your offer to make a template.  Any known sources for the 90 degree neck?  Or should my radiator guy have sources for that?

Chuck.... many mooza go I parted a 65 Lark foedoe with factory a/c.  I beleive I still have that radiator, somewhere deep in storage. . .. however, I'm guess'n its prolly not but, is the radiator from a 300 Lark with a/c, the same as a 65 GS radiator with a/c?  No?  yes?

Wheelz,

The Skylark radiator is configured different then the GS radiator in regards to hose bib / tank placement.

Basically they are opposite of each other. Also, if I recall correctly, on an automatic car the trans lines attach to the passenger side tank for the small block. Whereas the GS lines cross over between the oil pan and transmission, then attach to the driver side tank.

 But we got it covered. I sent Chuck a template so the radiator shop can install the upper 90 degree bib at the correct angle.

Just had my tanks removed and need some info to order the correct new core.  I need the dimension between the headers (width) and overall height.  Is the core size the same on cars with A/C vs. non-A/C cars?  If so, we can choose the right core based on the measurements of my non-A/C core.  If not, I'll need actual measurements of the A/C core.  I'm pretty sure the height is the same for both, but not sure about the width.

For reference, the dimensions of the non-A/C core are 18 3/8" high x  20 3/4" wide x  2" thick.

The width is the same. The tanks need to fit between the two vertical panels of the core support, and will also need to fit the
rubber insulators in the bottom of the support. Same locations, air and non air. I may have squeezed in another row of fins with
core I had done.

Thanks again Mark.  That helps me confirm the core that I need.  The only difference in the two radiators then is the A/C radiator is 1/2" thicker with 4 rows instead of 3 rows and the inlet is a 90 degree elbow vs. the straight inlet pipe on the non-A/C radiator.  Sound right?
