65 POST SKYLARK
« on: January 23, 2016, 05:08:59 PM »
I WOULD LIKE TO SELL THIS CAR AS PICTURED BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT TO PART IT OUT. HAVING SAID THAT I WILL NOT BE SURPRISED IF IT ENDS UP PARTED. IT WAS A FAIRLY RUSTY MICHIGAN CAR THAT HAS 50,000 ACTUAL MILES. IT HAS THE NICEST OBSOLETE DOOR PANELS THAT I HAVE SEEN,TYPICAL CRACKED DASH,NICE INSTRUMENTATION. THE CAR RUNS AND DRIVES AND STOPS. IT IS PRETTY COMPLETE WITH ALL THE HALO TRIM AND GOOD GLASS. IT IS RUSTED IN WEIRD AREAS LIKE THE WHEELHOUSE AND TYPICAL LOWER QUARTERS. I KNOW IT COULD BE RESTORED BUT IT BEING A BASE SKYLARK I DO NOT KNOW IF SOMEONE COULD JUSTIFY IT. IF SOMEONE WAS A GOOD WELDER AND JUST WANTED TO DO A DECENT DRIVER IT COULD DEFINITELY BE SAVED. THE REAR TAIL AREA IS NICE AND TRUNK PAN COULD BE REPAIRED WITHOUT FULL REPLACEMENT. NICE BLUE/BLUE FROM FACTORY AND SWITCHED TO DUAL PISTON BRAKES. $1900

If you decide to part it out, I am very interested in the door panels. If someone wants to fix the quarters, I have the back half necessary (but it is in California). Anyway, I am very interested in the door panels.

I am in the Saginaw,Michigan area. The car could be transported easily and I may be able to move it myself if it isn't too crazy of a distance or half way to somewhere. It has a new headliner that was never correctly finished and it was originally light blue as pictured in the trunk area. The engine and trans are in great shape and I think it is basically driveable.

Thanks Jim,
I will not sell any parts other than what is listed. If any of these items sell I will start selling small items. I still have my eye on another project and if this car is complete it makes the other one more interesting. At this time I have too much in the rusty car to sell off trim...etc. Dan

Thanks,

The price of the car is not firm, but I think the parts listed are in the range I need to be. I have had thoughts of starting another post car,and I assume that the prices will not be falling to my desires. I am usually pretty good at parting with something and then getting a reality check as to what someone else would ask for the same piece. If someone bites off a chunk of the money I have sitting there,it may start the parting process.

It's been some time since you had a post but I'm interested in the interior parts you have in this add.  Please let me know if you still have them and are still interested in selling them.  Ron
