What is the correct color for the inner fenders and firewall?  Satin Black?

Yes, satin black. About 60% gloss I think.

Try semi gloss in a rattle can.
I've had good luck mixing Rustoleum oil based paint, 60% gloss with 40% flat for a semi gloss that looks very original.

The Parts Place sells spray cans in either lacquer or enamel of what they call semi-gloss chassis black. 12 oz cans for $8.00 each. Lots of auto parts stores carry spray paint in cans. Try a satin gloss black on a piece of test metal to see if you like it. If you find one that looks really good let us know what it is.

How close is Duplicolor DE1634? (Re: Engine compartment)

Dear sjfd04, Rollaround, Dan, and 1965 Buick engine bay "fashion police" . . .  :laughing7:

Available in a rattle can?

For better or worse my wagon's engine compartment was painted with Duplicolor engine ceramic in their so called "GM/Chrysler Low Gloss Black" (DE1634).

http://duplicolor.com/product/engine-enamel-with-ceramic

Is that much of a match or is it not glossy enough?

Cheers, Edouard

Napa brand 7244 Trim Black in a spray can seemed to be the closest to some concours cars according to my eyes in a spray can.
