Which Spring Company To Buy From?
« on: December 28, 2015, 07:43:59 PM »
The front springs on my wife's 1965 Buick GS are shot.  The engine and trans were replaced years ago with a 425 and 400 trans out of a 1966 Riviera.  Additionally, the cars has A/C.  there is quite a bit of weight up front.  I was looking at http://www.springsnthings.com/coil-spring.htm and also Eaton Detroit Spring, Inc.  Eaton seems to offer a number of springs and springsnthings is closed till Jan 3.  Could you recommend a good spring company to go with? Thanks, Richard

Got mine for the 65 and 66's from Springs n Things. I would think Eaton would be good too.

X 2 for Springs n Things. They will ask if you have AC. Those springs have a different rating than the non-AC springs.

They also ship very quickly and have very good pricing.

X3 for Springs n Things (ESPO).  Placed an order before Christmas after talking with Laura several times.  As noted by Dan, she asked about A/C, stating there is a higher rate spring to offset the added weight up front.  Haven't received the order yet, but they were very competitive, helpful, responsive....all that you want in a supplier.  I bought the springs and almost all of the steering and suspension pieces for my rebuild.  They sell McQuay-Norris parts that are said to have been made in the USA before manufacturing was moved offshore.  Based on the comments from others, I expect to be fully satisfied when the order arrives.

Good luck!

My vote goes to springs &things. I just bought mine two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. Well maybe if they had installed them for me I would but that aint gonna happen. Super service by a very knowledgable and personable lady. She is cute too. LOL

Received my order today.  HEAVY box!  :laughing7:

As advertised by Laura, the parts other than the springs are all McQuay-Norris, made in the USA.  Looks substantial and attractive.

Still highly recommended!
