plastic trim piece that secures headliner
« on: July 24, 2015, 11:23:57 PM »
I was dismantling my 65 parts car and noticed a black plastic piece that slips over a metal strip that secures the front of the headliner in place ,  my question is do they reproduce that plastic strip ?

John, believe the piece you are describing is the upper front windshield lace. Ames Performance sells those.

John, if you can post a picture, I can see if my parts car has one that is in good shape.

Common reproduced part.
Originally they were made in colors to go with interior color.

OPGI's offerings:
Front, I think it works for the rear also. Rear is shorter if I remember correctly.

Lower rear corners :

Year One's offerings:

Year One has the upper corners for the rear window.

Success , it came off in one piece !
it actually seems pretty pliable yet . trick was to figure out which way to pry it off .

I've found that the front ones seem to come off in better shape. Maybe it's because of the windshield upper area being tinted on all the ones I've had.

The back window pieces have been more brittle from my experience.

Loren , I was kind of surprised this one came off being there was no front or rear glass in the car AND it was covered with green moss .
It even cleaned up pretty nice .
Well back out the my air conditioned shop , great weekend for shop time .

Hi Guys, for future reference. These are made by Trim Parts. Black only so you'll need to dye if color is necessary. I just put these on my skylark resto...front, 3 pieces for the back, the couplings for the back and the package tray. They were spot on. My originals were just to brittle to put back on.
