radiator hold down and finger gaurd on ebay GS
« on: May 30, 2015, 05:37:04 PM »
looking at a 65 GS convertible on Ebay and noticed it appears to have a standard small block non A/C radiator hold down plate and a finger guard, shouldn't all 65-66 GS's have the bigger hold down plate for the larger radiator and wouldn't a A/C equipped car come with a fan shroud instead of a finger guard?

Yeah, it should have a fan shroud as an A/C car. Remember, its a project, and probably has plenty of small issues like that.

It has the wrong radiator too.... upper hose should go to the passenger side!
I've never seen an air cleaner with the shortened snorkel..... I wonder if that was done by a previous owner to clear the AC compressor?
Looks like a decent car tho. Wheelz is a board member here and on V8.

For what it will cost to restore that car you could buy a #1 car and have money left over. there's easily 10K in body and paint work there.
