CURIOUSITY RAISES another question... I have 2 convertors.. one is from a 65 Lark 300 v8, the other a real 65-66 GS.
They appear identical.. same height, same wideth, same bolt pattern..so, WHAT? if any, makes them different???

CAN a 300 V8 Lark ST300 convertor be successfully installed into a 65 GS 401??  and will it work??

Trying to figure out what to save and what to NOT save....  :dontknow:

I recall that the st300 converter for the 300 engine and 401 are the same. The v6 has a little more stall since they did not hit as hard.

I've never seen any documentation of the differences between the 300 converter and the 401 converter other than the different part numbers and paint ID marks....
I've read online the V6 converter (same OD) stalls higher and even has a different weight.

To be clear, the small block converter is supposedly different, I just don't know what the difference is.
JW at Trishield Performance was buying these for $75 as cores to be rebuilt. He can rebuild them to custom specs.
He might know what the difference is.
