Picked up some more chrome parts . Progress is moving a little slow right now , welding the trunk pan in is pretty time consuming .
Im finding out as I go here that there are certain areas of these cars that the fit and finish is far from great .

Dear John and mid-60s Buick fans of shiny chrome!  :love4:

Picked up some more chrome parts .

Very pretty!

Sorry about the discovery, but where Buick failed to meet the specs back in 1965, I'm sure you'll be persistent and prevail!

Cheers, Edouard

Chuck , tail light housings are next in line . Had to take a short break spending $$$ , got hit with some taxes this year and a wedding to pay for next month .
Plus one of my race engines will be done in two weeks .
Guess I better start fertilizing those money trees .

While taking  a break from the chrome shop I still have plenty of rust to repair .Now that the trunk pan is welded in place I thought I would start with the passenger side  rear part of the quarter panel seeing its the worst of the 2 sides .  I can only hope for the best seeing theres no good quality repair panels out there .
took me 2 days to get this far , hopefully I can finish it up tomorrow .

Patch panels? Who needs 'em? That is exactly what you needed....time and patience definitely trumps overspending(This is not a political post).....lol. That is looking great and don't forget to use your wheel well trim for final fit. That bottom curve looks very correct compared to anything that is currently available. Dan

Good to hear you're back on it, John!  I've been back on mine for awhile but progress seems too slow..... :BangHead:

Hoping to have her done for the Nationals in June.  Better get back to work!
