59 Buick Invicta
« on: January 28, 2015, 08:02:56 PM »
Hey Buick guys I'm looking for some advice . I have a 59 Buick Invicta . I've had this car for a few years and have not touched it yet , but have been collecting parts for it . It's a 2dr hard top but is rough but very restorable . My question is or what I would like some advice on , do you think this car should be restored to original or made into a custom cruiser ?
I don't know how well these cars drove or handled so my thought was to do a radical drive train upgrade but keep the body kind of original.  ( I'm not much into swapping makes of engines ) I would like to keep it buick .  I really think this car would look Kool with a Blown nailhead . Thoughts ?

Custom cruiser might bring you more enjoyment behind the wheel.

Amen!  Unless you are building it as an investment, and the investment is based on authenticity, I agree!

Thanks for the input guys !
I think I will plan on upgrading the suspension to make the car handle and drive better .
Not that I'm gonna start on it tomorrow or anything but I was talking to a guy this last weekend at a swap meet about nail heads and he put me in contact with a older guy that used to drag race nail heads .
Low and behold this guy is nailhead freak and used to run blown nail heads in his drag cars . He's getting up in his age now and it sounds like he might be willing to part with some of his inventory .
So I'm hoping I might be able to pick up a couple 425 engines and a vintage blower set up .
(From what I understand he still has all his old drag cars even )
Hope this lead turns out to be real !
I think I'll bring the emergency check book with me just in case .
