Old guy/ new guy
« on: April 14, 2014, 09:38:52 PM »
Like a dummy I bought a 65gs sight unseen off ebay. At 68 i should have known better! It was represented as a solid number two car but when it arrived it was obviously grossly misrepresented by the seller. low oil pressure, a beat up interior, bad panel alignment, rust in the R/S quarter panel, poorly repaired collision damage and corrosion damaged chrome ---- especially the tail lights. The  car is basically a very expensive "beater."

The good news is its a 4spd / White / Black Vinyl top California car with a quality rust free undercarriage and body cab.

Hopefully with some cash, some elbow grease and some help from you guys I can get the car squared away.

Congrats on the car Ed. Too bad you need to work on it to get it the way you want it but it sounds like a nice combo with the 4 speed!

Welcome Ed!  Buick only built 3077 4-speed GS hardtops. It's good to have another one saved. The members on this forum are here to help with any questions you may have. Glad you found us.

Hello again. Sorry for the smart remark. I've been trying to post on here for a while, and finally got it to grab. Anyway, Dan, Loren, and John, I got the pillars painted on my GS. They look good, but if you're looking for it You can see a slight difference in color. Looks much better than before. Thanks Much for all the help you guys have given me.    Bill

Bill,

Welcome. Glad you have gotten the posting part of this site down. Yes, paint does look better than bare metal. Hope to see you in MO.
