Trunk light question
« on: September 05, 2014, 10:23:26 PM »
The trunk light in my GS is working - I just can't figure out how to shut it off! Is there supposed to be a switch somewhere? (I'm sure I can rig one, but would love to have the right part if it exists.)
Thanks!

Open the trunk, and quick like a bunny remove the bulb. No other way to turn it off other than unplugging the connector to the harness. There is a mercury switch built into the bracket (I think) that shuts the bulb off when the deck lid is closed.

Ken. Check to see if it`s mounted with enough angle to shut it off.  I have an extra one of those lights. I`ll test it today.  If you can`t get yours working then the mercury switch is no good. Let me know and I can email you a pic. mrbuick65@rogers.com

John, That did it! I just needed to bend it up a little and it's working perfectly. Thanks for the assist!

Mark, roger on that "quick like a bunny!"  Yikes!  :angryfire:
