GS Frame

I pulled the body off my GS and have a frame question. At the transmission cross member there are angle iron pieces about 18 inches long bolted on the inner side of the frame on both sides. Are these factory or did someone put them there for a possible trans swap? They almost appear to be factory installed. Any help would be appreciated.

They were likely added later.
The factory mounts are welded on. They have 4 mounting holes for the crossmember. In '67 the st400 trans became available which happened to be longer, requiring different mounts.
