Yeah was the Buick find of a lifetime and the guy had lots of rare and neat stuff (Hilborn setup, Eelco injection systems, blower intake, AL valve covers, 4 speed stuff, heads, blocks, engines, etc...), needless to say my pocket book is a lot lighter for it

ours look similar, carbs are same distance apart - I wonder if Buick engineers opened this one up?

Hi,

Neat find, could be Buick engineer's did the modification or not as you can see on the single 4 barrels one was "Doc mod" and the other is stock configuration

I was at Back to the bricks show this year and got a chance to speak with Dennis Manner about these and a set of heads I got with these parts. Guess one of his projects back then was developing the dual quad package so who knows he may have had a hand in modifying them?

There was someone who wrote on the V8 site post about these that had a good explanation for only one side opened on the intake as I often wondered why early chevy 409 dual quad's were that way

So how did you come across the intake? Did you get any other interesting parts or stories with it?

Cool to see your intake have you run it yet?

Regards,

Jim

Mine came from Russ Martin; he was selling a few things on eBay and this one called my name!
I've had it on 2 engines for dyno testing  :headbang:
I will fit it in a 65 Wildcat project; I have to build another engine to be worthy of this.

I can relate to the "called to you" thing hence why I purchased this collection and ebay or as I like to refer to it as evilbay always seem to find things calling to me lol

Did you notice any performance gains with this intake?

I was wanting to get my intake on this year, but way too many irons in the fire maybe over this winter

Jim
