Could someone tell me where the negative wire is mounted? Is it on the engine? Or the frame?

Negative battery cable ? Mounted to the power steering pump bracket on mine plus a small wire which goes to the inner fender.

Great! Thats where I have it.
Hey Dan by the way the marker light housing worked out great after a bit more fussing.  It actually had the same issue as the my original.  Where the brass socket and the can make contact there was some corrosion which was screwing up the ground.  I had to pull back the crimp of the brass, loosen it from the metal can and clean the rust from where they make contact.  Then peened it back over.  Worked great

Thanks again for that.  Dave

Dan is correct for a car with power steering. For a non P/S car, I would imagine it would attach directly to the driver side head.
