-65 GS electrical harness.
« on: April 10, 2013, 05:45:17 PM »
Does anyone know on top their head what pin number on the fire wall connector the tachometer cable is?
Cable is brown but what pin does it connect to from the under dash harness.
Anyone know if there is a full schematic specific for the GS?
(due to me running a 455 the original -70 engine harness running a white cable for the tach
and i finally found an original Buick console tach...I thought. Seem that the consolette and console tachs are
different, are they?). Have to use my GS harness in the Skylark to accomodate all this too.

Pin no. 1 seems to be the only one available, could it be that simple?

I believe the console and consolette tachs are the same. There is a separate wiring harness that includes the tachometer. see http://65gs.com/65%20Buick%20Gran%20Sport%20Service%20Manual/1965%20BUICK%20SKYLARK%20GRAN%20SPORT%20SERVICE%20MANUALindex.html
The schematic for the wiring harness shows nothing going to the coil but the engine harness does include the brown tachometer wire so it could be the #1 pin since it is the only one open.
