Chris, I hope this is the start of a great resource for all of the '65 GS owner out there!
I've been into '66 GS's since 1977....I was almost 16. $50 got me a clean car in need of an engine rebuild....those were the days!
I picked up a few more '66's in the last dozen years, and then a '65 GS convert 4 speed ;D ;D last year.
The '65 is a project....the previous owner basicly disassembled it, then lost interest. It sat for years, before the owner listed parts off it on ebay... I followed up on the tranny listing , and was fortunate enough to buy the complete car....it was a close call. I am so luckey to hace gotten this car ;D
It's in pretty decent shape...some rust in the quarters, but rest of car is very solid.
I'm currently involved in a frame-off on a '66 4 speed car, and I'm actually doing much of the '65 at the same time....it's actually pretty easy to restore, lets say, 4 control arm at once, instead of 2 now, and 2 later.
