Welcome Aulis!  Great to see one of our favorite cars in Europe.  And what a delightful collection of 65 GS memorabilia you have on your website!

One name you mention is very familiar to many of us here.  Carmen Faso has provided a lot of parts for engine rebuilds and many carburetor rebuilds.  Nice to see one of his engine rebuilds running so well across the pond.

I'm also very impressed with the collection of hot rods on your website.  I had no idea that American muscle cars were so popular in your part of the world.

Please don't be a stranger.  Join us frequently and keep us up to date on the adventures of your 65 GS.  And by the way, we love pictures!!

Hello
THank You everybody !!!
Yes, I have hear that my GS is one of fastest 401nailhead original body/frame car.
I think ex owner, Jerry, has race 12.74 ET

I have bought extra pair vision alum. wheels (15x8") and Mickey Thompson ET Radial DOT tires (275/60-15").
We have racetrack is near here middle of Finland, so I really will go there and test car after made basic maintenance and check all (leakdown test, oil change....)

There is 4.11:1 R&P. I was drive car from Helsinki up to Seinajoki (350km)..... rather high RPM....
There was was some stuff with car.  Original power steering system (all), original rear suspension arms, 3.55:1 Richmond R&P, original front swaybar,....

I have ordered from CARS Headliner, which has arrived to Finland,  and mechanical fuel pump + door seals. Never seen those. CARS Buick parts company is not answer my +10 email.  Im tired to ask where parts are now....

Ex owner in USA has invest very much.  I like that style to built this kind of original muscle car.  Not 100% original but near....  good stuff, nice hi-perf extra.
Carmen Fasco has done good job, Nice tranny (manual valvebody), Greg Gessler has made heads + intake....  Very good, I give 100points !

With car come all  later paperworks.  Also most important stuff like  :
- original tittle
- Original order sheet
- Original protect-0-plate
- Original service manual
- Original owners manual,...

This 2nd Covid summer I just keep car on the road.  After summer I fix hood and few other paint problems, change headliner, seals,...
Already fixed before winter (car arrived on October) engineroom wirings. After that they inspected car and now I have historical vehicle status in it.
My Friend owns  65GS convertible, he already has GS-401 lic.plate, I need to think if I pay GS -lic.plate too (750euro, 800usd).

In Finland we have maybe 6-10 1965 GS.  Less cabriolet and thin pillar, maybe half are 2dht.

I was racing 25years less or more. After that I keep 9y break and now I have street nova (9sec).
This GS is more for driving on the highway.
Hot Rods are my main thing, just building 1932 roadster which will be ready 6/2021.

I just ordered GS stickers from my friends company.  3" long small window sticker.  We do not want to establish real association, but have
"unofficial" original GS owners club Finland

Hello
2021 i bought my all white/maroon interior 65 GS.  Car has run great all 3 summer.  12,9sec 1/4mile  was OK for me.

two weeks ago i bought another 65 GS 2dht from Sierra Madre CA.  I think car is already in seacontainer on the way to Finland.
That car has interesting options.  Tilt steering column, rear swaybar, A/C, electric windows and dealer optio Dual Quad.
Artic white+blk vinyl top / Blk interior.

Rgds,
Aulis

Aulis,

Welcome back to the forum...it's been quite a while. And you've been busy racing a 65 GS and buying another. What are your plans for the second one? I assume more racing. Do you plan to keep the dual quads? If so, it will be interesting to see how this engine performs compared to the 12.9 sec single carburetor car. Please keep us informed on your plans and progress.

Thank You Sir,
Mostly I built Hot rods (now 1932 5w coupe "under construction", 2y ago built P-51 supercharged 1932 roadster) so not so much time built other cars.
I have done nothing special my 65 GS.  Just normal maintenance and car has been summerseason more or less daily use.

Im very interested see ths new 65GS when its here on February 2024.  I need to order new vinyl top, door and roofrail seals etc.   hope its technical OK.
Not now running condition because has been long time without any start or running.
I hope nothing big technical problems.  i think, carbs need to open, fueltank, filter... need to fix before start.  I was lucky that I get this car (craigslist Los Angeles), there was over 20names after me ....  Need to thank seller who sold it me.

Well, if you're going to do more of a restoration than a race car build, you've come to the right place if you have questions along the way. Don't be shy about asking. There's lots of knowledge and experience here!
