Title: Spring Time Tips
Post by: Chris on January 08, 2010, 09:19:14 PM
I figured I better start this thread now as some of you might be planning or getting the cars ready a little early.

In the Fall I asked everyone to post their tips for winter storage and this thread is dedicated to tips for waking the cars up from their winter slumber.

Anyone have an annual checklist they follow to ensure their cars are put back on the road properly and help the car stay on the road longer?

Please share...

Chris

Come on guys... someone has to be willing to share their Springtime car ritials.

1.  Change the fuel filter

2.  Check the oil and other fluids

3.  Check tire pressure

4.  Check belts for wear hoses for bulges

5.  Wash and wax body and trim

6.  Check car value and gas prices to make sure you can still afford to drive it!   :evil6:

Anyone use fuel / oil additives at this time or run anything down the carb?

Chris

I always use a fuel stabilizer when I store the car  for the winter.  You also mentioned an oil additive, I hope everyone puts in a Zinc supplement everytime they change their oil.  It is a must for flat tappet engines.  Do the research on what type of an additive to use.  The other option is to spend the money and run Joe Gibbs oil, it is designed for flat tappet engines.
