Title: Park Light Housings
Post by: dl7265 on August 07, 2012, 07:43:11 PM
What have you guys found on the inside finish ? Mine appear to be original and look like chrome. I know later cars were usually white painted. Not sure if it's a plant variance or what. The exterior is definitely  zinc dichromate ( gold).
Thanks,
DL

Don,

I don't know for sure what was the factory coating, but it was kinda like chrome, but it probably was not chrome. I just used that spray can paint that they call 'chrome' paint.

My theory - the Special/Sportwagon housings were white inside. The Skylarks were silver.
Eastwood makes a good substitute, but don't recall what the name is.

I've used Krylon Dull Aluminum.  It is a great match to the gray color found throughout the Skylark

Thanks, I have some chrome type paint I can use then, when they come back from being re plated.
