Title: Forum Changes
Post by: Chris on December 27, 2011, 08:22:13 PM
Hey guys.. the time has come to do a heavy upgrade to the Forum.  The changes might change the looks of things a little however the functionality should be the same and everything should feel familiar soon.

Dec. 28 marks the seventh year anniversary of the site and this is my way of celebrating and making sure the code is up to date so things continue to run good for another seven year.   :headbang:

Sorry for any inconveniences and I'll try to get everything stabilized over the next couple of days.

Thanks,

Chris

Please vote here about the changes:

As of tonight, I'm done with all the planned changes to the site.  I also updated the Gallery and ran into some issues with MySQL that caused me to lose many of the old comments.

Hope everyone is finding their way around ok...   :dontknow:

Make sure to check out the new Live Chat feature.

Thanks,

Chris

I like it, but is the "outbox" for PM's gone ? I only have "inbox" now.

Thanks,
DL

Thanks for catching that DL.. it should be fixed now and everyone should be seeing the new Chat window and a couple other new features.

When I enter the forum I am identified as a user but I can't open pictures like before the update.

My file also looks like it has been changed.

The file has changed me away from speaking English and most everything else is blank.

Should I start from scratch on my file or edit????

Should I use the same password.

Any other suggestions?

The new gallery functions more intuitively for me.

Thanks

I looked over the settings and I didn't see anything that would be blocking the pictures.  Are any other users seeing the same issues?

If you go to this posting, do you see the pictures:  http://65gs.com/board/index.php/topic,957.0.html (http://65gs.com/board/index.php/topic,957.0.html)

If it's only affecting you, we might need to reset your account like you suggested.  :(

Anoka Cruise Night came through just fine.

All the other pictures I have tried are also working just fine.

As Always, THANKS for the Help.

Live Chat is now a thing of the past for a second time.   :laughing7:

I didn't see anyone using it and it took up some site real estate so I axed it.

I'm glad you decided to leave Recent Updates at the top of the Forum.

I like it!

In the Gallery could we have a section that would picture NOS Options for our cars including packaging to make it a lot easier identifying what we are looking for?

As always you are doing a great job.

Thanks

A NOS Parts & Packaging area has been added to the Gallery.

Thanks for making the suggestion

BTW, I don't log in as frequently as I used to, I just check the recent posts at the top of the page and see if there is anything new that I want to check out. So the total number of log ins to the site might drop with that new feature, which I really like.
